Welcome to Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument
Rack Card
Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument was an interesting challenge to clearly communicate the different access points and areas of the same monument. To help alleviate the confusion, the U.S. Forest Service asked me to design rack cards to distribute to the different tourist centers to highlight the multiple roads to different parts of the Monument. The simple map and brief description of the area became the key focus to clearly articulate this message.
Client: U.S. Forest Service, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument
The U.S. Forest Service manages the land around Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument for recreation, habitat restoration, and preservation of the historical and cultural importance of the area around the active volcano. The eruption in 1980 devastated and changed the natural and cultural landscape on a massive scale and provided important information that would lead to geologic discoveries.
